Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients

  • 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 0.5 cup all -purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs , beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon sal t
  • Non -stick cooking oil spray

Instructions

  • Cut the mozzarella sticks in half crosswise to create 16 smaller sticks.
  • Prepare a dredging station with three shallow bowls: one containing flour, one containing beaten eggs, and one containing panko mixed with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt.
  • Coat each cheese stick in flour, shaking off any excess.
  • Dip the floured stick into the egg wash, then press into the panko mixture until fully coated.
  • Repeat the egg and panko dip a second time for each stick to create a double coating, which prevents the cheese from leaking.
  • Place the breaded sticks on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for at least 2 hours until completely solid.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil.
  • Arrange the frozen sticks in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they do not touch.
  • Spray the tops of the sticks with cooking oil and air fry for 5 to 7 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown.
