Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup hone y
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarc h
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic in a medium bowl.
  • Reserve 0.25 cup of the marinade for the final glaze; pour the remaining marinade over the chicken pieces and marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring no overlap to allow for proper airflow.
  • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket at the 7-minute mark to ensure even browning.
  • While the chicken cooks, combine the reserved marinade with a slurry of cornstarch and water in a small saucepan.
  • Simmer the sauce over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until it achieves a thick, syrupy consistency.
  • Transfer the cooked chicken to a clean bowl, toss with the thickened glaze, and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
