Ingredients

  • 2 large turnips (approximately 1 pound) , peeled
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Slice the peeled turnips into uniform matchsticks approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  • In a large bowl, combine the turnip sticks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Toss the mixture thoroughly until every turnip stick is evenly coated with oil and seasonings.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the seasoned turnips into the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding to ensure proper airflow.
  • Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously every 6 to 7 minutes to promote even browning.
  • Remove from the air fryer once the turnips are tender and the exterior edges have developed a golden-brown char.
  • Serve immediately while hot for optimal texture.
