Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
In a large pot, melt butter over low heat.
Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
Remove from heat and stir in the dry instant banana pudding mix and vanilla extract until smooth.
Immediately fold in the rice cereal, crushed vanilla wafers, and crushed freeze-dried bananas until evenly coated.
Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared pan using a greased spatula.
Allow to cool and set at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
