Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Pizza

Ingredients

  • 16 oz refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 lb ground pork breakfast sausage
  • 1/4 cup all -purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 large eggs , lightly scrambled
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 12-inch pizza pan.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbled.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and fat, stirring constantly for 2 minutes to cook the flour.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer, stirring until the gravy thickens; season with salt and pepper.
  • Flatten and join the biscuit dough pieces to cover the pizza pan, pressing the edges to form a crust.
  • Spread the sausage gravy in an even layer over the biscuit dough base.
  • Distribute the scrambled eggs evenly over the gravy layer.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the biscuit crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and slice into wedges.
