Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage (breakfast or hot style)
  • 2 cups biscuit baking mix (such as Bisquick)
  • 16 oz sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the raw sausage, biscuit baking mix, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
  • Mix the ingredients on low speed using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or by hand until a cohesive dough forms and the sausage is evenly distributed.
  • Add the milk one tablespoon at a time if the mixture is too dry to hold together; the dough should be moist enough to roll without crumbling.
  • Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form a 1-inch ball.
  • Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, spaced roughly 1 inch apart.
  • Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the sausage is fully cooked and the exteriors are lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the balls to rest on the sheet for 5 minutes to firm up before transferring to a serving platter.
