Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups old -fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon sal t
  • 1/2 cup semi -sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, peanut butter, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Add the rolled oats, cinnamon, and salt to the wet mixture, stirring until all oats are thoroughly coated.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and press down firmly with a spatula to create an even layer.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center feels firm to the touch.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 12 rectangular bars.
