Garlic Parmesan Pasta

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water before draining.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Whisk in heavy cream and simmer for 3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in Parmesan cheese until fully incorporated and smooth.
  • Season sauce with salt and black pepper.
  • Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss thoroughly to coat.
  • Adjust sauce consistency with reserved pasta water if necessary.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
