Ingredients

  • 1 lb refrigerated pizza dough, room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic , finely minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll the pizza dough into a rough rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  • Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into 1-inch wide strips, then cut crosswise into 1-inch squares to create approximately 24 to 30 pieces.
  • Roll each dough piece into a small ball and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving 1 inch of space between each.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the bites are puffed and the tops are a light golden brown.
  • While the bites bake, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes in a large mixing bowl.
  • Remove the bites from the oven and immediately transfer the hot bread into the bowl with the garlic butter mixture.
  • Toss vigorously to coat every piece evenly, then add the Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley and toss once more.
  • Serve immediately while warm, optionally with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
