Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over half of the pastry sheet.
Fold the bare half of the pastry over the filling and press the edges slightly to seal.
Using a pizza cutter, slice the pastry into 1-inch wide strips.
Hold each strip at both ends and twist 2 to 3 times, then place on the prepared baking sheet.
Whisk the egg and water to create an egg wash and brush over each twist.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before serving.
