Ingredients

  • 32 oz frozen tater tots
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 24 oz pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz sliced pepperoni
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until fully browned and internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Drain excess lipid content from the skillet and return meat to the heat source.
  • Incorporate pizza sauce, dried oregano, and garlic powder into the beef, stirring until the mixture is homogeneous.
  • Transfer the meat and sauce mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.
  • Distribute 1 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce layer.
  • Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single, uniform layer across the top of the cheese.
  • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and top with the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and the pepperoni slices.
  • Return the dish to the oven for an additional 20 minutes or until the tater tots reach a golden-brown texture and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Allow to rest for 5 minutes before portioning into 6 servings.
