Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 2 green bell peppers, diced
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 tsp sal t
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through, then drain the excess fat.
  • Add the diced bell peppers and onions to the skillet with the beef and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce; cook for an additional minute.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in the softened cream cheese until fully incorporated and creamy.
  • Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
  • Place the provolone cheese slices across the top to completely cover the meat mixture.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden on the edges.
  • Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
