Italian Olive Oil Bread Dip

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic , minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Pour the extra virgin olive oil into a shallow rimmed plate or wide dipping bowl.
  • Drizzle the balsamic vinegar into the center of the oil.
  • Evenly distribute the minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, sea salt, and black pepper across the surface of the oil.
  • Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the herb and oil mixture.
  • Allow the mixture to sit for 2 minutes to let the dry herbs hydrate slightly before serving with sliced baguette or ciabatta bread.
